Categories:       A = anyone and includes patchwork virgins

                        V =  someone with no patchwork experience

                        B = someone with some patchwork knowledge, including rotary cutting skills and ¼” seam allowance

                        ADV B = someone with good patchwork skills

A workshop to create an exciting and colourful background for embroidery with the use of bondaweb, felt, fabrics, paints and threads. The use of sewing machine (optional) and hand stitching can be used to embellish.

A pack of materials can be purchased on the day (£6.00 payable directly to the teacher). It will contain Bondaweb, felt, organza and a mount to frame the finished work.

Date: May 22nd (Tuesday) 10am till 4pm at the shop. £32.00 per student (minimum of 6 required for class to run - maximum number: 8)

Open  Patchwork classes with Val

These classes have no fixed agenda; you can come along and work on whatever project you like (play catch-up from another one or start something new).   If you have never done patchwork before, this would be a great place to start (and check out the dates at Our Lady of Lourdes on Saturdays where we have more space);   not only can we point you in the right direction but you get to see lots of other ideas being worked on – inspiration for the next project!

Each date is booked separately but if you would like to work on a series (such as a sampler quilt – and we have two great programmes :  My First Quilt or the new Medallion Sampler quilt – both great for beginners)) then book your chair first  and we can discuss the project to work on later)

Sewing machines are available for a small rent fee of £3.00 per day.

Medallion Sampler  

My First quilt

Wed Eve’s with Val 6-9pm

3 hours of sewing in the evening with no particular fixed agenda;  simple home dec ideas such as quick quilts and cushions and simple dressmaking, aimed at those who have never sewn before or would like to freshen up their skills.   Also perfect for the mum who just needs to get away for some ‘own’ time.   Each date is booked separately but you can book a series and we can then discuss your project later. For dressmaking and Home Dec you will need to bring your own patterns, but we can obviously help with the construction and on the patchwork/quilting side we have a shop full of inspiration

Embroidery with Heather     Level: A

An open-format class with Heather who will be there to help you with your embroidery – maybe something you started with her and still need to complete or maybe start a new project.

Zig Zag triangles with Val 

Level:A

If triangles leave you fazed then this class will take the worry away; fast and easy and very effective; great for beginners if all you have done so far is strips and squares;  this modern technique gives you great accuracy.  You can use up stash (light and dark) or just two fabrics – the class sample was made with cotton fleece so really snugly.

Beginners with Lesley

Level: A

No assumptions made at this class;  you will learn how to rotary cut, how to machine piece and how to sew the ¼” seam allowance so perfect for all those of you who always wanted to do patchwork but didn’t know where to start.  Perfect for the Patchwork virgin
