Class Requirements for Gail's Christmas Star Decoration with Gail

Bring list Christmas Star Decoration (Tuesday 24th November)

 

        This is a lovely project for brightening up the home at Christmas. The large red star was made with 9 fabrics the smaller with 8 and the one in the hoop with 3. The fabrics can be repeated in the star if you would like to have a smaller palette; below I will give some guidance on quantities.

 

       1 x12” square of calico, if you would like to make further stars then get at least half a meter.

1 fat qtr for outside of star and backing

8 fat ⅛ of coordinating fabrics for star or if you’re using a smaller palette then 4 fat qtr

12” square of wadding

12” square of pelmet Vilene (or Timtex)

1 meter of ric rac

Meter of pre made bias tape or we will make our own from fabric.

10-11” embroidery hoop if required (not essential)

Beads, sequins or buttons to embellish (this will be done at home)

 

Sewing machine and Manual (bring your walking foot if you have one)

Cutting mat and ruler

Basic sewing kit

Coordinating thread for sewing

Pressing mat and iron not essential but could save you waiting.

Pencil

Don’t forget your glasses if you need them.
