Chevron quilt class
There are different methods to make chevron quilts.
I will teach you a method using 5 inch squares - and show you an alternative method using strips.
Please bring to the class:-
Fabrics:- to make a 48” square quilt
12 fat quarters OR ½ metre of 6 fabrics
-each fat quarter makes 1 zig zag therefore 12 fat ¼ makes twelve different colour zigzags
- if you buy ½ metres – you will have a repeat of the 6 colours
A scrap quilt option
Mixed 5” squares – you will need 72
PLUS 1 ½ metres of a background for alternating zig zags
A neutral colour for piecing
Sewing machine in good working order – with all leads, attachments and manual.
- We will be using a standard machine foot – not the ¼ inch one initially.
Rotary cutting mat, long ruler and cutter
8” to 12” square ruler is useful if you have one
Sewing kit – pins, scissors etc
Fabric marking pen – eg Sewline
Notebook and pen
Please note – I have not given quantities for wadding and backing – in case of change to size.
This is a day class so bring your lunch or buy from the many shops in the street.
Drinks will be provided – tea, coffee and water.
I look forward to meeting you on the day.
