Embroidered Cushion Requirements
In this class we will be using the 'How does your garden grow' pattern to a hand embroidered and embellished wool felt cushion front.
I took a sections of the pattern and adapted it to create 3 different designs. I used Osnaburg and a selection of wool felt which I embellished with Out of India and Oliver Twist threads, beads and buttons to complete my cushion front.
You will learn a selection of hand embroidery stitches, raw edge applique and embellishing techniques. You will produce a stitch sample to help you complete your project at home.
For the cushion front
You will need:
50 cm Osnaburg or similar backing fabric
50cm of bleached calico
1m of heat and bond
1m or Ric-Rac for stems
A selection of wool felts which we can discuss in class
Out of India or Oliver Twist threads
Beads,buttons and trimmings
1FQ of Osnaburg backed with calico
12" embroidery hoop
16" quilting hoop
Pencil and note pad
Air erasable pen
Paper and fabric scissors
Basic sewing kit
Fabric and paper scissors
