Class requirements for Hedgehog class with Gail

½ meter heavy weight cotton for body (linen, light canvas denim or soft furnishing fabric will work well), this has to be strong to take the weight of the spikes. Patchwork cotton is not strong enough.

2 ½ meters of fabric for spikes. This can be made up of as many fabrics as you like. Charm packs work well combined with a few fat qtrs. This is a great excuse to acquire lots of new fabric while using up some of your stash too.

Small scraps of black fabric or felt for eye and nose

Small piece of Lite Heat and Bond (or equivalent) to fuse the eye and nose

2 x 8” lengths or half meters of ricrac in coordinating colours

1x 250gm bag of toy stuffing

Please cut 50 x 5" squares of fabric at home, it doesn’t matter what colour as we will be cutting more on the day.

This will give us a head start so we can make the hedgehog in a day. Please do this as it would be nice to see your hedgehog assembled.

Sewing machine & manual sharp needle and a spare!

Coordinating threads to sew and black for eye

Sharp scissors

Pencil or marking pen or chalk

Hand sewing needle and pins.

Don’t forget your glasses if you need them, I often do!!!

Look forward to meeting you on the day, Gail
