Class Requirements for Teenage Dressmaking October 31st: Lounge Pants

Dressmaking for teenagers with Maggie

 

Have fun and learn to sew a pair of lounging/pj pants on Saturday 31 October

(10 a.m-4 p.m) at Creative Quilting, Bridge Road, East Molesey.

 

 

Learn to cut out a pattern

 

Understand seam allowances

 

Choosing the right size

 

Stitch and finish seams

 

Make an elastic casing

 

Stitch a hem

 

 

 

     Fabric:                    1.8 metre of 115cm (45”) wide fabric depending on size

                                    NB:  NO obvious diagonals/strips or fabric that needs to be matched

 

     Notions:                  0.8 m of 2.5cm wide elastic

                                    0.7 m of 6mm wide ribbon/twill either matching or contrasting fabric

                                    Matching thread – good quality polyester or cotton

                                    Pins

                                    Scissors – dressmaking scissors preferred but not essential

 

     Sewing machine:    If you are bringing your own sewing machine please REMEMBER to include all the accessories, all machine feet, spare bobbin, power lead, foot pedal and instruction book (if you can find it!!)

 

                                    Alternatively, you can hire a Janome DXL 603 from Creative –

                                    hire charge £4 BUT you will need to book the machine in advance direct with

                                    Creative – 020 8941 7075
