Build a Quilt Class
With a collection of your fabrics we will go through the stages of designing and building a quilt.
The sample quilt is approx. 35 “.
Please bring to the class:-
A collection of fat quarters or larger pieces that you like.
I started with 10
It will be preferable to have an assortment of pattern size and tonal value (light/medium/dark) plus mottled or tone on tone fabrics. A group of fabrics you like together.
Please note –we may need to add extra at the border stage.
Neutral cotton for piecing
Quilting thread can be chosen later.
Sewing machine in good working order – with all attachments, leads and manual.
Rotary cutting – mat, long ruler and sharp cutter
Bring 12” and 6 ½” square rulers if you have them
Sewing kit – pins, scissors etc
Fabric marking pen – eg Sewline
Notebook and pen
You may like to have extra paper to draw diagrams on.
Please consider the size of the quilt you want to make. This can be made bigger but obviously you will need more fabrics. I suggest you make this a small learning quilt.
You will then be able to move on to a larger project.
Looking forward to seeing you on the day – drinks provided but don’t forget your lunch.
There are many food outlets in the street where you can treat yourself.
