SQUARES and SASHINGS
Groups of squares are separated by sashing strips with cornerstones between
(small squares). Good scrap quilt.
Please bring to the class:-
5” squares – 5 nickel packs – (ready cuts) OR 100 cut from your stash
Cornerstones – 1 fat quarter OR 36 2 ½” squares cut from your stash
Sashings - 1 metre - mottled or plain, Cream is good for a scrap quilt
Wadding – 60” square
Backing - 61” square – can be pieced to add more interest.
Binding - ½ metre
Neutral for piecing
Sewing machine in good working order – with all leads, attachments and manual.
Rotary cutting mat, long ruler and sharp cutter.
Sewing kit – scissors, pins etc
Notebook and pen
This quilt is planned with 5” squares. We can make it larger – please bring more squares and sashing fabric.
You can change the size of the squares – my sample uses 4 ½” squares (what I had to use up) We can adjust the sashings and cornerstones to suit.
Please do not purchase backing and wadding if you want to make size changes.
