An easy technique using squares to create a simple but stunning quilt.
There is an addiction warning on this – I have made many quilts!!!
A good stashbuster.
Please bring to the class:-
A – Feature squares – 64 x 5” squares – 32 from 2 fabrics – 55 cm of each fabric OR a mix – 4 nickel packs (ready cuts)
B – Background – becomes the rectangles – 1m 10cm
C – Centre –becomes the small squares – 30cm
Backing – 60”square
Wadding – 60” square
Binding – ½ metre
NB – backing and wadding can be organised later
Neutral for piecing – light /medium/dark grey – depending on chosen fabrics
Sewing machine in good working order – plus all leads, attachments and manual
Rotary cutting mat, long ruler and sharp cutter
An extra ruler/square ruler is helpful if you have one
Sewing kit – scissors, pins etc
Notebook and pen
This quilt can be made larger or smaller. You need to bring extra fabric if you want a bigger quilt. Hold on wadding and backing if you want to make any changes.
