Bunny in the garden - Notebook cover and pencil case
Don’t use scraps of paper for your class notes – use scraps of fabric to make this lovely notebook cover and pencil case! This easy project incorporates a bit of hand embroidery and quilting with machine construction, plus an easy lacy zip
All you need is an A6 notebook, or for smart sketching, use a plain A6 sketch pad.
6” lacy or normal zip (instructions for both)
Plain fabric for embroidery – two pieces, one of 7” by 4” and one 3 ½” square
Light iron on vilene to back plain fabric – as above
Lining and Wadding – two pieces, one of 7 ½” by 15 ½”, one of 10 ½” by 8”
Binding – fat 1/8th.
1 ½” strips of scraps of predominantly one colour – I used about 14 different scraps of blue fabric – all leftover bits!
You will need 22 strips in total of at least 7”, plus 5 small circles for Suffolk puffs.
Embroidery floss to tone with your fabric, sewing thread.
General sewing kit, sewing machine, small board and rotary cutter.
