You will require background fabric and several coordinating fabrics for the stars. How much of each depends on what you want to make.
The background fabric should be either light, e.g. white, cream or pale grey, or dark, e.g. black or navy.
The ‘star’ fabrics should contrast well with your background.
If you just want to make the three blocks we will be covering in the class then 0.4m of background fabric is enough, with a fat quarter of each of your star fabrics.
If you plan to make more stars and turn them into a quilt then you will need 1m of background fabric (1.5m for a larger quilt), and several more fat quarters of star fabric.
In the class I will help you design a quilt or table runner and work out the yardage for it.
