Reimagined Landscapes by Jen Hewett
Reimagined Landscapes is an update to Jen Hewett's first fabric collection, Imagined Landscapes. She designed that collection in 2017, when still living in San Francisco. Many of the prints are based on personal landmarks and scenes from her regular walks and bike rides around the city. Jen moved to the Hudson Valley in 2021, after 25 years in San Francisco. She has reimagined the palette of this collection to reflect the very distinct seasons of her new home.
Jen is a printmaker by training, and many of her earliest fabric designs were based on her block printed and screenprinted work. Both the Seaside Daisy and Superbloom prints use the same, central motif – starburst patterns that was carved into blocks for block printing. The design is based on the flowers of the seaside daisy plant, which is native to coastal California. Seaside daisy grows wild on the cliffs and bluffs where Jen regularly rode her bike for 25 years.
