Create this lovely purple poppy inspired by Georgia O’Keefe’s close up flower paintings. This combines both machine stitching and hand embroidery. It works really well using plain fabrics for the poppy and a patterned fabric for the background. Learn how to embroider French knots and/or bullion knots to embellish the centre of the flower along with running stitch. The rest of the flower will be stitched with a zig zag stitch using raw edge appliqué.
The finished piece is approx. 27x27cm..
